About Eric Miskey

Eric Miskey is a talent acquisition and staffing professional with over 15 years of recruiting experience. He is the President and Owner of One-to-One Staffing, Inc., which he founded in 1999. He has helped grow many early, pioneer internet software companies with a wide variety of talent. The approach has always been to understand the product/service, culture, mission, and future of the organization so the right talent can be assimilated into a quickly productive environment. Focus has always been on identifying mutual fit and common vision - which is the basis for the “One-to-One Principle”.

Since 2005, Eric has been a strong proponent of open source technology and the recruitment of technology professionals focused on Ruby on Rails, as well as LAMP. He has built strong relationships with both small, thriving start-ups as well as large, marquis corporations. He believes Ruby on Rails (and open source in general) will power the internet of the future - utilizing the inherent collaboration, smart methodologies learned in the past and best practices (including TDD/BDD and Agile programming).

Eric has helped small companies that were private grow into tremendously successful and thriving organizations by hiring world- class talent on a nationwide scale. Some of his most notable clients include BroadVision, RSA Data Security, CBS Interactive and IAC Search & Media. Eric has also recruited extensively with small-to- medium sized Ruby on Rails companies across the country as his network of developers in the Rails community is very large – he is well-connected in Austin, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and other places where Rails is growing in popularity.

Eric prides himself in knowing, from a high-level, the Rails platform and the markets in which he recruits in…and, especially, his clients’ environments and hiring needs. Every organization is a dynamic culture of productivity – the sum of the parts (individuals) comprising the whole (company)…but living and breathing, and hopefully thriving. Eric has a passion for recruiting – because every client that he represents, he truly believes in. He carefully screens each company about their technology/development stack, work environment, methodologies (Agile), and practices (TDD/BDD) that make building Ruby on Rails applications that are sustainable and scalable. The company must have differentiation, be able to monetize and have either solid investment/VC-backing or positive cash-flow. They must empower their employees and give them the tools to be successful. Eric believes in his clientele and wants to get to know what each candidate he represents is looking for to find a good match. That is the key to his recruiting approach…putting like-minded folks together that will naturally connect.
